Vacuum Service for Flat Roof Work
In the fall of 1999, A-Plus Roofing added a Vecloader 522 Titan roof
vacuum to our list of quality flat roof servicing equipment for the
Twin Cities. The Vecloader is used to remove all of the loose gravel
from a BUR (hot asphalt roof) and the river rock from a EPDM (rubber)
roof. Most contractors use sweepers and shovels to remove the gravel.
This process is very slow and dusty/dirty. The Vecloader removes the
rock with a vacuum head and a 5" hose. The vacuum filters the air and
removes the dust and debris before returning it to the atmosphere. The
rock is then dumped from the hopper on the vacuum into a truck to be
hauled away for offsite disposal.
This serivce allows us to offer you both speedier work as well as a
cleaner and more pleasant environment while your new flat roof or
repairs are under way.
Interesting Fact:
A ballasted rubber roof has 10 lbs. of gravel per square foot. That
means a 10,000 square foot roof has 100,000 lbs. or 50 tons of gravel
on it.
